North Cumberland Fire Department is NOT accepting applications for the  position of Firefighter. Job Summary: Under supervision, responds to fire, rescue, and medical emergencies. Provides advanced or basic life support as needed. Attends regularly scheduled trainings, meetings, and events. Works required number of self scheduled station shifts as well as responds to alarms on call. Maintains adequate physical fitness as the job requires. Maintains all required certifications and licenses as required by both North Cumberland Fire Department and The State of Rhode Island. Completes station assignments and duties as required. Completes apparatus maintenance and service as required. Maintains good knowledge of roads, equipment, protocol, and fire department structure and policies.

Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Certified State of RI EMT
Certified State of RI Firefighter Level 1 or higher
 

Additional Requirements:
Valid State of RI Drivers License
18 years of age at time of hire
Must pass criminal background check
Must pass physical examination and drug screening
