The Training Division ensures that all departments’ members have the education and skill necessary to perform their duties in a professional and well-structured manner.
The primary responsibility of the Training Division is to coordinate weekly
training. The training sessions include NFPA-required sessions, as well as experimental labs that provide members with a hands-on opportunity to explore new techniques and tactics.
Trainings are coordinated with individual shifts or in conjunction with multiple departments. This allows the departments to share ideas and practices.
Other responsibilities of the Training Division include enrolling members in external classes and seminars, as appropriate, and scheduling periodic department-wide, off-site training sessions.
